Hi. I have insurance on my cingular account, and im ready to buy a new phone, the moto krzr unlocked. its 30 dollars more and no contract! But i was wondering whether or not it would effect my insurance. would i still be insured assuming the cingular version of the krzr is covered by insurance? thanks

Its not covered by insurance. What will happen is that you will pay for insurance that you will not be able to file a claim on.

You can either remove it off and save money or pay insurance but they won;t honour a claim on what they don't insure so you would blow money that you won't see or get back.

Thats why Insurance requires you to activate the phone within 30 days of purchase otherwise in...

Sometimes there is a way around a few things like the 30 days rules. If the phone was not insurable at purchase and became available late I can usually get it insured but in your situation absolutely not, drop it and save the money.

YOUR ARE WRONG

IF you keep insurance and the krzr is not insurable then
u will get A phone equal to it
which would prolly be a rzr
they will not deny a phone

u can get a phone just not a krzr

You realize you just said "you are are wrong" right? Anyway, no, you won't. Yes, they will deny phones. There is a four page list of them. You may get whatever phone is registered to your account as long as it is insurable. Otherwise they will send you a new one and you will have a very large bill on your next cycle.

I actually agree with licorshot. I had a customer in my store with an 8125. He had added insurance to his account with his previous device and when he purchased it outright the sales associate didn't remove the feature. He cracked the screen and called lockline and was told that they would honor it one time and sent him and 8125 for the $50 deductible. They did however remove the feature from the account rendering it incapable of reattaching insurance in the future. Bottom line is that yes they will honor it one time.

Depending on the rep maybe, but I just called Lockline and they will not honor it. It first has to be the registered phone and second a cingular phone(not unlocked, cingular branded). Believe what you want but that is a reps answer, a customer care answer, and a lockline reps answer.

Thats right and the money you spent for insurance $4.99 just went up in smoke, because the phone was not insurable, so that money you don't get back, but they will when you try file a claim, be happy to remove the feature so its not charged anymore. 🤣

I would agree with you if i hadn't personally seen this work on multiple occasions. I'm not a sales rep that condones this activity however i also can't say it doesn't work. It does have to be a cingular branded phone. It does have to be registered to the account but if these conditions are met they will do a one time honor of the insurance.

LoL

i was busy with closing when i wrote that
anyhow

u can insure whatever u want but u won't always get what u insure
bottom line

you don't have to trust me but i have been a customer for years now and in july i became a cor store rep

tru i don't know everything but i know just about ever loop hole in cingular because either i made them or i found them from others that used them

insurance is free money to the company y wouldn't they insure a phone and half the time they never know what u got anyways until u tell them
