i absolutely love my pearl. i was using a 3125 and switched since i was able to combine my 3 phones into 1 - PTT, Blackberry, and slim cameraphone. although it is not 3G, its not a big deal for me. 3G is more important for my laptop (which it has).
if you are not going to get the blackberry service on the pearl, you'd be better off with a regular handset. i don't understand why so many people buy the pearl just to use as a phone.
