Does the iPhone affect VZW's chances of passing Cingular?
I think it's safe to say that the iPhone announcement sent shockwaves throughout the mobile phone industry. Will the high-end (aka profitable) VZW customers start porting to Cingular over this phone?

I agree as a cingular employee as well. but also look at the 8525 i am selling it ouright for 650 and i have sold about 10 like that in the last month.

it is alot of money but to techys its all worth it ya know. think about it. an ipod runs two hundred and a decent phones lets say is 150. and a phone that does the real http internet runs about 300. so if you add up a decent pda and an ipod together your lookin a 500 so why not buy a phone that does both for the same price ya know. its alot of money to drop on a phone at once but i gaurantee when it comes out that i will make alot of money in commission selling that phone.

I think this phone is gonna be great... But it all depends on how well the touch screen works compared to the touch screens we're all familiar with now..

It depends in your area to sell higher end phones. It might bring interest to Cingular but only time will tell. On that matters Verizon is having new phones coming out that looking very promising

I sell 8525 at $500 on a two year and will be running the 750 at the same price. Even at $500 they generate a lot of buzz. The Iphone should easily compare to these devices aside from edge speed. The sad thing is that its going to Core, online, and apple outlets only so as an indirect i won't see it. 😢

ya i am an indirect also. but do you really think that as money hungry as cingular is that they are going to not let us indirects sell the iphone. sure they say that now but it will change we will have the iphone as an indirect.

well as a CORE employee i can say that we only get paid of features from the phone not the actually phone its self....so not sure how to answer ur question. i guess your best solution is to work for CORE store and leave indirect. Thats just like saying Best Buy sells our stuff but they don't get paid off of that with Commission. I know i use to work for them.

Unfortunately this happens alot. Phone like the w300, L6, L2, and some LGs were national retail only, meaning as an indirect we will never sell them. As for the Iphone it was apples call to only sell from these locations.

I am with Verizon right now and their service just blows all of the others away here in central Texas. And I have tried them all. And now I see this iphone that is only going to be released by the worst carrier on the planet! What a shame this is, indeed! Why oh why is this happening. I finally see the phone of my dreams, and it will be hindered greatly by sucky cingular service. I never thought anything would make me consider leaving Verizon, but I have found myself being pulled to the darkside! Somebody, please save me, before it's too late!!!!

I can't believe someone is thining of leaving for a phone. Come on. You sit ther and type how bad they are and you think a phone will change that. I am not saying they are. And you may have good verizon service but your fellow texans to the west don't have any at all. But back to what you were saying. A phone does not make a service for the most part. If they are that bad you will have a good phone with crappy service (which I don't think they have). My suggestion is get an Ipod!

I had a customer leave Cingular for the Pearl with T-mo even though we were gonna get it just a few months later. He couldn't wait.

You say that I should get an ipod, but actually I don't care about playing music on a phone at all. Music is not a very high priority to me, mainly since there are so few songs in the world that I like. Anyways, the iphone's other aspects are what really draws me to it. Like the internet and camera features for example.
I am hoping that Verizon comes out with a really cool phone before the iphone starts selling, so I can stick with the superior carrier, like any smart person should.

Internet. It doesn't have 3g (yet). Camera feature. I dunno have to check but I am sure its not greater then a 2.0 mp and their are plenty of those. I don't get your reason at all!

please stay with vz. you havent activated service with cingular and you already seem like a PITA. I mean, you want the iphone, but not really for the music features. you don't even know what you want... you are the type of customer who do nothing but call cust service and complain. BTW is Vz firing you?
