Going to Montreal

I will be travelling to Montreal this week for business. I have a Motorola V400 phone. Will I be able to get service there? If so, what kind of charges might I incur?

Thanks. Any info is appreciated.

Phone will work anywhere GSM works... its a quad-band, or "world phone".

You also have to specifically call in to customer service and request international roaming. It's not an automatic feature since most people don't want it. If you haven't been a customer for six months, or don't have outstanding credit, you cannot add international roaming. You are also likely to be charged the one time roaming administration fee of $5.00.

not so. canada can be roamed in. i go there all the time, and my phone worked before i was a cingular employee, as do many of my current customers and none of them have an international package.

Just goin' by what salesportal says.. I've never gone up to Canada. From what they told us you had to have the international roaming soc on your account to have it function and that wasn't something they stuck on at the time of account activation. You're probably right, but that sounds like a CS nightmare for when border customers pick up an international tower and have to call in to get their bill credited.

P.S. our new play of the day e-mails are gay.

yeah, we get accidental roaming often. they included the canadian side "border" towers to our nation plan, but whenevr they add a new tower, and it's not in the IRDB profile yet, people get accidental roaming when along lake ontario, or near niagara falls. The current culprit seems to be Oshawa, ON, btw.
