Then, you have the RAZR. Who, in the wireless industry, likes the RAZR? Most of the reps I speak with and the reps that post here seem to hate it. Someone posted a while back that the only reason we hear so much bad stuff about the RAZR is because of the sheer number out there. This is partially true. Another reason is because IT SUCKS. I have had customers that have had there RAZR replaced 3-4 times and finally either get a comparable phone (LG CU500) or get their upgrade eligability overridden or cancel. Motorola needs to focus less on form and design and more on everything else. "How can a guy who owns 2 Motorolas say this?" Because it is true. I like my L7, but would trade it without hesitation for an LG CU500 or SE W810i. And why are th...

Even though you might have a point (to many razr haters, personally i've never had a problem with it) you hear so much about how bad the razr is and you still get it -.-

as far as "overprice" it may be, but would you give your best selling phone for free? regardless if it sucks or not people still buy it, it's motorola's best selling phone and you see them everywhere, if you don't like the price or the phone then simply don't get it.

also, if you want good variety have you given thought to samsung or do you only go online? samsung D407 was a great phone (sadly discontinued for poor sales), the C417 is just like the razr minus the antenna problem, the pantech is a decent phone at best, as far as your complaint about free, there free for a reason, it's not jus cingular, every company sells they're crappiest phone for free, especially online, it's called an "easy sale"

Yes but the 6010 goes for free and I sure as hell would not consider it a CRAPPY phone. Not all free phones are crap. Nokias at least. I usually tell customers asking for the RAZR that I have a variety of phones that are the same price and have more features that are more reliable. I haven't sold a motorola phone in like 4 months. If you are like me and hate hearing complaints day in day out spin customers to phones that will not give them problems. They will trust your judgement if you are honest and you wont have any customers walk because you refuse to sell the RAZR.

Of course you see a lot of problems with the returns of the most popular phone (which, don't let what I say make you think that I like the razr by any stretch of the imagination) The more units you have the more defective ones there are bound to be. It is the nature of being. More people the more illnesses, and so on. My qualm with the RAZR is that while 2 years ago it was a nice phone. Its features are very outdated. Even the new models (V3I and V3M) are the same outdated phone from before but with a music player 🙄 People will still buy it however. And if they do then thats their bad just run with it and be happy that they are happy with the phone they got.

BOTTOM LINE
Cingular has got to stop taking their time to make the big releases! Cingular needs to stop gutting phones then releaseing them (E62).

Why haven't we seen all of these great phones like the 6126, 6282, w810, pearl, etc. I understand why we have to have the crappy free phones, but why can't we advertise something other than the POS moto phones. Where's the marketing campaign for our best phone the cu500, and while I'm on that, where's all the HSDPA phones!!!!

Cingular is watching Sprint, Verizon, and Tmobile look like the ideal networks and that Cingular is old and boring. Well if Cingular doesn't pick up their act before Christmas we're going to see a huge drop in customers!

I think we have some decent phones on the market. W810i being one of them now, we just don't have the great add campaign that VZW does. Raising the bar doesn't have the appeal like the sexy chocolat adds verizon is airing. Or that funny one where the unnamed service provider is copying VZW.

I just wish the RAZR would die. I was listening to my nieces and nephews (all in elem school) talking about which RAZR they will get when they're older. Not which cell phone, but which RAZR! I told them that by the time they're old enough to get cell phones that there won't be anymore RAZRs but that there will be MUCH better cell phones. But the way Motos going, the RAZR will be around longer than me.
