So i got the w810i(question about memory stick formatting)
So i bought a unlocked version of this phone and was wondering when i right click a folder to check the memory status of the folder a option shows up to format my memory stick. Why would i need to format it?

You would only need to format the card if you wanted to delete all information on the card of if you were having a difficult time utilizing the card itself.

This is a total guess but if its anything like VZW then you have to insert the card into the phone with the phone powered on.....then power the phone off.... and power it back on....This is what formats our cards...hope this helps

That would not be the way to format this memory card. If he needs to format it, there is an option on the phone to format the card.

its if you want to erase the whole memory card. its not the best idea to format a card from a device unless really needed because it sometimes it wont clear the whole card but make it seem as if you did.
