The earpeice volume should be substantial enough on the 6102i. You probably have it turned down. While in a phone call push the volume rocker button on the side of the phone up. Make sure you do this during a call! Otherwhise you aren't adjusting the earpeice volume.

Thanks chainsaw, but the volume is turned all the way up!! It's just too low for me. Are there any phones in the cingular line-up that are known for having a clear, loud speaker. What about the v557?? THanks!!

Nothing should be louder than the nokia. It is possible yours is defective. I would take it back to the store you bought it at(unless you bought it on the internet then just go to any store) and try some of the phones out. Don't go with motorola. The sonyericcsons project pretty full sound, but once again the nokias tend to stand out the best. Good luck!

If you bought it online, don't go to any store. Go to a corporate store.

I was just saying that if they bought it from say amazon.com they could go to a store to try the phone then call the appropriate people to get it replaced.
