I have been with qwest for three years, and they suck! So now i am looking into Cingular or T-Mobile. My roommate has had Cingular for three years with no complaints, but my girlfriend has T-Mobile and the only complaint was that recently the entire network shut down and no phones worked.
The guy at Cart's swears by T-Mobile and showed me the JDPower website that put T-Mobile at the top of EVERYTHING for wireless.
My problem is cost. Cingular is the same pricing as Verizon, but has a 50% off the phone and 25% off the bill per month plan for Boeing employees. They also have rollover minutes, and a fairly good plan. They offer 1400 minutes on a family plan right now for $89.00 while T-Mobile only offers either 1000 minutes for...

It sounds like your alredy leaning towards Cingular seeing we have the best plan for your needs, Rollover, and the 8125. Cingular and T-mo have EDGE, and depending on where you are you may have 3G UMTS/HSDPA which speeds go from 400-700 with bursts up over 1 meg but currently not many phones are offered. The 8525 which is a new version of the 8125 is coming out I think later this month which, correct me if I'm wrong guys, has 3G.
Hope this helps

8525, maybe i will wait for that then.... I've read nearly all of the comments on those phones and they are very mixed. Seems there are still a lot of bugs. Teo of my friends have them and have no complaints. They have the MDA. Hopefully the 8525 will have some bugs worked out...
Thanks for the info...

When will the 8525 come out? Will the processor be better? Will it sync more efficiently? What are hte advantages of waiting?

To see all the specs (hopefully Cingy will keep them all the same, they should be) go to www.imate.com and look at the JasJam (I think that is the name. It's a black PDA w/ slid eout keyboard). They are the same phone, just other companies are already selling them.

I checked that site out. Thanks. Still, when will we have that phone? I see that the processor is twice as fast, and through reading a ton of reviews i found that the processor speed was a big complaint. So this new phone would be great. I cannot find anything that says when we might get it. Online i found one that i could buy now, but for $1,000! Yeah right....

LOL You can find them for as low as 750-800 I think, but still, you're right about it being way to much right now. There are no dates set in stone right now for a Cingular release, but it's already in our inventory system as the 8525, just w/ no shipments associated with it. Cingy would be stupid not to carry this phone (and hopefully make it look as hot as the imate one, or else I may buy that one instead). 🙂

Well, you have answered all your questions that cingular fits your plan needs better. The 25% FAN discount is awesome too plus you get discounted pricing on the phones. The only advantage that t-mo has is better customer service which you shouldn't have to deal with too often. Since you work for boeing do you live in Ut or WA?

Actually i work for myself. My dad works for Boeing. We are here in Washington. He has Cingular already, but is out of contract. I am out of contract on my Qwest. So that is why i would like to combine the two and save some money...
Thanks for the response...

to get your dads work discount, service would have to be in his name.
...
Yeah, he already has cingular and is out of contract... That is no problem.
Thanks...

as far as coverage and network, i'd say cingular. also, look into the blackberry 7130g... it's been a dream. i had the 8125 and got the blackberry.

Really, the sales rep was trying to sell me the blackberry, but after research it just didn't seem to have the same options. My main focus is to sync with my outlook, have email through outlook and hotmail, and be able to manage contacts...

blackberry will be a more user friendly solution for you.

I agree, its a dream to operate compared to the windows mobile 5.0. You can view pdfs, word documents and such on the BB8700 as well.
