WTF is happening with Cingular's phone line up???
I friend call me today to get help choosing a Cingular phone becuase she wants to port over from Nextel. So I logged on to cingular.com and I was shocked to see how many few options there are... Same old phones! I just told her to get a 6102i or an LG cg225. Hopefully something else will come out within her 30 days so she can do an exchange or something... WTF is happening? and why can't we release something NEW!!! We went from 6102 to 6102i (oh yeah, great!) and from z520a to z525a (no ****) These are basically the same old phones with minor differences!

The end of what? CDMA? Yeah! I've heard something like that. Most wireless carriers in south america switching from CDMA to GSM. Actually I think I read it here...

Now I would not say all that. Cingy is getting a version of the KRZR and the SE W810 is up to the same specs as the chocolate minus 3G capabilities.

the samsung d807 is a beautiful phone. works great and probably the best screen and camera cingular is selling now.

You really think so? I tried this phone and the only nice thing this phone has is the screen. The phone has a low earpiece. And the camera takes grainy pictures (even though it is a 1.3 megapixel camera) This phone takes the same pictures I take on my D415...

er. honestly i only tried well lit areas and outside. but after having the w600 and the 8125, yes, i htink it's the best camera...

a lot of the new phones have been because of the PTT network. I would agree that no great new phones have come out recently (I for one and hoping for a good midrange flip which...doesn't exsist on cingular) but there are a buncha new phones coming up I would say hang on for a few more months and expect to see some great new phones rolling out.

I somewhat agree with this thread. Our phone selection has turned dull. I look online and I see a whole bunch of "refurb" phones. I hate the whole refurbished phone madness on cingular.com. I guess no-one is buying these because they are still there (D357, SLVR, 6102, 6010, x497) among others.

I agree. I really doubt the V3i will come out. This phone is following the footsteps of the A630 and the V635. Great phones, but never made it to the line up. What a shame.
The reason I doubt this phone will come out is because the Canary RAZR has already been approved by the FCC and it could be out by Thanksgiving, which leaves very little room for the V3i. We should just put the iTunes software on the Canary RAZR and forget about that darned V3i for once and for all....

We have a significant amount of phones that have just come out or will be coming out. You don't get 5 new phones every month.

the problem is that they suck............ flat out. only onw i would consider buying is the CU500 or the z525. Only reason to get the z525 is for PTT. The 6102 series is crappy, feels like crap in your hands. All the other phones just suck.

I agree Tex... but the phones we have in our line up right now could use a boost... Think about it.. we haven't had a "different" phone in a while... they all have the same features, just different shell.
How about a text messaging phone like the F9200.. that will stick around for a while. The samsung d307 was a joke for the price that was being charged for it...
There are some great phones (d807, cg225.. even the 6102i). I'm hoping to see some different stuff roll out when 3g relaunches nationwide in a couple months..

The CU500 seems like a decent phone.
i put my unlocked itunes v3i and upgraded to it.
doesn't seem half bad at all.
but then again that's just one phone...
the 8125 is good.
but yea i'm a dedicated cingular customer.. and i have to agree.. the cingular lineup is currently pretty lame.
