will cingular give me a free battery?

for a slvr. do u think if i went into a corp. store they can give me one for free? i recently got a refurb phone from cingular.com and i dont feel like returning the whole thing just for a battery... any input would be great.

So did yours not come with a battery? Or you just want a new one? Because if they just want a new one you can exchange it though motorola, as cingula doesnt warranty the batteries after 30 days. If you bought your phone from cingular and it shipped without a battery then they can give you one or ship you one. If you did an exchange by mail on your sliver, they dont ship with batteries or backs so you would have to buy a new one if you sent yours back with your broken one.

i upgraded my phone online and got a refurbed slvr. i got it on friday. but the battery is not working properly. i know its the battery cuz my friend has a slvr too and i tried his battery and it worked fine. mine doesnt hold charge. nor does it charge.

Oh IC. Well if you can work it out with the online folks they can usually work something to where u can just goto a store...

I don't mean to sound rude at all, but that's what you get for buying a refurb.
I think buying a refurb is like buying someone else's problem. The merger with ATT brought all this refurb BS. We never offered refurbished phones before the merger.

Yeah, I agree, and like I say to my customers on a day to day basis, when they ask...

"Why don't you guys have Refurb SLVR's for $100"

"Why would you want to sign a TWO YEAR CONTRACT on a REFURBISHED PHONE?"

the phone is refurbed, but the battery shouldn't be. there's nothing wrong with my phone. and if i have to warranty exchanges on them, sooner or later they'll just give me a brand new kit. this is my 3rd refurbed phone and they others worked like charms.

Just call customer care and ask for the Accessory Warranty Exchange Dept -- they handle exchanges for all accessories and batteries are considered an accessory. Not sure what the warranty period is for accessories though.
