For some time (about a year), I have noticed calls from my other non cingular phones, listed as incoming peak billed minutes--.

I didn't really think that much about it, as I will occassioanlly call from any phone to another phone, just to check ring volumn etc--So over the last 2-3 weeks, I have taken care to notice when I do this and make a note when the call was made, and if it was answered or not, and it it went to v/m-----

They are freekin charging me for un answered incoming calls, some may go to v/m--others to short for v/m to catch----they are billing peak minutes--and have been for some time.

Has anyone else noticed this????

When I call my spint and vzw lines in the same manner, there are no minutes billed.

I called c/...

that means your phone is call forwarding to your voicemail

any kind of call forwarding will result in minute charges if it's peak time

what number is your voicemail set to? it should be some number in your market that corresponds to the voicemail server

No this isn't what's happening. It happens when no forwarding is programmed. If my phone is called from say a vzw phone, it rings 2x;there is a peak minute charged.

When I use my fast forward option, which I normally do, the call isn't even listed on the account. I assure yuo what I discribed is happening. But if you think about it, most cell phones users answer their phone if it rings, so it is no problem.

Dude, I believe you don't worry about that.

I just thought you may be having the same problem some of my customers have had.

Have you talked to Tech Support yet?
And which market are you in?

sorry, somehow I missed the reply. I am near Knoxville tn and since the original posting, I have talked with everyone at cingular, c/s, tech svc, and finally a v/p who was really the only one honest enought to admit what was occuring, and he also gave me 500 minutes for the previous years overbilling.

To recap, any time anyone rings any line on my account, either from a landline, another cingular phone, anytime, day or night, there will be minute charged to the account--the only ones that matter are during peak times of coursr, but they are still listed even m2m and N&W. Talking to c/s and store reps reveal that most of them aren't aware this happen, but if you work your way up the chain of c/s finally they will admit it, but say, that'...

One is charged for a call when the systems receive a message that it has been answered. Sometimes, this happens even if there is no answer, with the switching between carriers it may be happening. I would say having someone ins CS open a billing ticket is the key. They can get to the Billing & Revenue Assurance group to check this out; these guys would work with NOC or Switch level technicians. You may get better results if you email through mycingular.com; &, whatever you do, please be nice & professional. You will get much better results that way. 😉

Please let me know if you have any further questions...
