RIONG TONES
I just purchased a Sony T616. I tried to download ringtones yesterday, but they would go thru. I think its becuase my WAP isnt configured right. So I call Cingular Customer Service and they tell me I have to Purchase there internet service for 3.99 a month. just to download ringtones and wall paper. That doesnt sound right at all. I was able to download ringtones on my 6340i GAIT phone without internet service. WHats the deal here.?

Hey--I'm a Cingular agent. It is true that you need the wireless internet service, but you can have them add the pay-per-use wireless internet. What state are you in? It could make a difference. But anyway, you have to have the wireless internet service on your phone to connect via GPRS. Let me know if you have any more problems.

some OTHER ringtone website will send the ringtone directly to your phone via like a text message BUT others will give you a WAP address to go to which in turn you need cingulars web access to download it
