A Possibly complicated AT&T -> Cingular Question

I have 2 phones from AT&T that the 2 year contract was up in October, I added 2 more phones whos 2 years are up the beginning of March.
One phone that I want is currently unavailable, but I want to upgrade the other three.
I was wondering if it is possible to drop the original line, leaving the 3 added on lines.
Migrate those phones to a true Cingular account.
Then add a line to the new cingular account when the phone is available.

*I know under this scenario I will probably lose the current phone number (not that big of deal)
*I don't want to upgrade to a different phone and then hope that my phone is available before my trade-in period expires
*Would I be able to add a line to the new account under the same name as the dropped ph...

answer is quite simple...yes
here are the steps to take:
migrate 3 lines
call cs to cancel other line
wait for phone to be available
add to existing ft plan you set up with other 3
...
