Some things about Cingular that are coming..
On October 19th , Cingular filed an 8K in which it discussed plans to de-commission 7,600 GSM sites.
Although Cingular disclosed its plans to decommission 7,600 GSM cell sites before YE 2006.
This number represents a portion of the prior 12,000 sites it said it had plans to decommission earlier this year (note: the balance of this amount represent
towers which it sold to T-Mobile for the unwind of the CA and NV joint venture).
Although the company
indicated it would decommission 7,600 GSM sites by YE 2006, the company still plans to add 3,000-5,000 cell sites in 2005 overall. As of September 30, 2005, Cingular had only added roughly 2,100. According to management, they could add 4,000 this year alone, which would imply a SIGNIFIC...
