The Cingular North America plans are priced much higher than ATTWS although they don't include Mexico. I like the North America feature with ATTWS since I can add it and remove it as often as I like and get a prorated bill (~33cents/day). I activate the feature before a trip to Canada and deactivate it 2 days after returning. It's too bad that Cingular orange doesn't offer the same feature, must be a contractual issue that only applies to former ATTWS customers. Maybe Rogers does not want to lose all the potential revenue that Cingular orange subscribers might ring up while roaming in Canada? However ATTWS did have a stake in Rogers before Cingular acquisition.

Anyone know why Cingular orange isn't offering this feature as ATTWS did ...

Rogers makes the same coin regardless of what plan you have with your home carrier.

And if the ATTWS plan DIDN'T include Mexico then you really can't call it a North America plan now can you.

Must have been a political reason ATTWS failed, they didn't recognize Mexico was in North America.

Cingy doesn't have the North America plans anymore. If you go to Canada for a month, you can add Cingular Canada for $3.99 which gives you $0.59 a minute in Canada, and $0.19 if you were in the states calling to Canada. The Roaming and LD rates don't stack either, it's just a flat $0.59 while there. Then you can take it off when you're back in the states.

Sure they do. They are in POS.com (if you select ALL plans).

I just did some last month for two customers. The new rates launched this month did not eliminate those plans.

Our rep said they were gone, but I haven't tried to sell them. I know we were supposed to pull the brochures (10/09/05). I think the new international rates are a better option too.

Not sure where you are getting that. They are still available on POS.com and nothing has been sent out saying "don't sell them".

What feature are you referring to? The Canada Calling feature that AT&T offered? That feature was $19.99 per month and could only be added to a Digital One Rate plan. That feature had to be on the plan for the full billing cycle or the minutes would be counted as roaming.

I use it exactly as they have indicated on the above webpage. I am not forced to keep it on for an entire billing cycle. The fine print does say that former "Digital One Rate" plans are eligible at 9.99 per month. Since that was renamed as GSM mLife National Rate and I am on GSM America, I can't explain the differences you are encountering.

The North America Plans DO NOT HAVE ROLLOVER!!!!!!! Only the National plans do. The North America Packages is not always avalible in all Markets or you may have to ask for it specifically.
