Cingular has service in Erie because of agreements with Cellular One, but they don't have any stores around here. In fact the closest stores are in Pittsurgh and Youngstown. Does anybody know when they're going to start selling phones in Erie?

When they put up their own towers there...

The reason that Cingular does not have any stores in Erie is because the network is not native. Although you can technically roam off of Cellular One's network for free, there is condition in the contracts that state 50% of your minutes must be used each month on Cingular's native network. Hence the reason why areas with signal but no Cingular owned towers have no stores. Unfortunately Erie is one of them.

Ruff,
Does Cingular have any maps that show just their native network? I only ask because every map I see only shows the "allover" network. I would like to know where I am off of the native network so that I can know not to use my phone there too much.

Thanks,
Shawn

The best representation of the network would be their Pay As You Go GoPhone map. Some portions of the native network are not represented on that map, but it should give you a general idea.

Yep, I agree with Ruff. Make sure it's not the "Pick your Plan" map though.
