Data Connect Unlimited
Was pondering the idea of purchasing a Treo 650 or other PDA phone 😕 . Have heard stories of people receiveing high bills because they didn't have a PDA Data package on their plan 😳 .
My question is, what exactly is included in the PDA Data Package (specifically the Data Unlimited Package, currently priced online as $44.99)?
My current internet plan is the old MEdia Works package I added to my plan back in Nov 04, which includes unlimited internet usage, 1500 text messages, and 200 MMS. Are any of these features included in the Data Unlimited Package, or are all these considered add-ons.
Thanks in advance...

there's a previous thread about this and it's split 50/50 whether you can get away with getting the unlmited phone internet package or not

The MediaWorks MEW1 should work fine with your TREO as long as you don't use for corporate email/intranet etc...

Can you please elaborate on this. Will you be able to connect directly to your email such as your road runner account with versmail. What about html web browsing? Especially for those weather radar maps or larger websites? Will that work thru MediaWorks? What about attachments such as microsoft office or large multimedia attachments.

I'm using MediaNetUnlimited for $19.99/month on my Treo 650 for 2 month now without any problem or limitation 🙂

Here's what I found out by contacting cingular.
Media Net . . .
-is wml, not html, so there is limited website access compared to html.
-you can not download files from the internet thru media net
- email works only from POP accounts. (That's why corporate accounts do not work on media net)
-only dowload attachment specific to wml format. Microsoft office attachments are not compativle with wml.
In other words there more's flexibility with pda connect plans. It's like having a full computer in the palm of your hand. Only you can decide which is right for you.
I'm just going by what I've found out. Please don't shoot the messenger.
