best RF performers?
I'm a longtime CDMA fan who just moved into a part of the world that is a fringe area for basically everyone but Cingular.
What I'd like is the best advice I can get on which of the current Cingular lineup have the best sensitivity. It's a pretty rural area, so selectivity is not as much of an issue (not that I'm likely to get anything but anecdotal evidence).

if you want good reception, get a nokia, probably a 6230, 6102(flip), or a 6682 (smartphone). or you can go cheap and get a 3120

are the 3120s good with reception. at one point i was going to buy the 3120 but my sales rep was reluctant in selling it to me because she said they had a number of them returned with bad reception problems. maybe they updated them with to get better reception now 😕

they're the best reception deal for the money. bottom tier phones cant compare.

That salesrep most likely was just tryna' make u buy more expensive model, u know what I'm sayin? Nokia 3120 means always good reception fo' sho!

Corporate sales reps don't get paid for the phones they sell. the phone with the best reception is the 6230. the 3120 is a pos. the 6010 is a no frills phone but gets very good reception. the 6102 flip according to the local inventory manager in my area is a pos as well. hope this helps!!!

I have to dispute this. I have had the 6230 and the RAZR since April. I have had to have the 6230 replaced twice because it gets horrible reception. I have just resorted to using my RAZR exclusively because the calls are so choppy on my Nokia.
