Thinking of Switching Carriers
I really don't want to switch, but my mom (on the account) talks a lot to her bf and he uses Sprint and I do get that disount. It would lower the bill from around $130 to around $70, before taxes.

I'm sure I have to wait until my contract is up, but let's say I'm not happy with Sprint, would I be able to go back to Cingular, keeping my same number, if I cancel within the allotted time period?

I've called and they've said no discounts were available to me. Before the discount, the prices are about the same using the same minutes (to keep it fair, since Sprint has the F&F plans). But with the disount factored in, the price along with the F&F drops the price a lot.
Strange usually Cingular has a deals with most companies and calling may not always work I been told to direct customers to the web site and do what I said put the work email and zip in. But if there is none there is none.
