Phone upgrade question - existing Cingular customer

My friend is thinking about upgrading from a Motorola V400 to the RAZR. She is out of contract with Cingular and has been a customer with them for a number of years. The account is current and she pays her bills on time.

The question is are there any additional discounts or rebates that she can get for being an existing customer with a good account history?

The store wants $200 for this phone with a 2 year contract.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

That price includes a discount already for the reasons you mentioned.

Customers who do not have a good payment history with Cingular are not eligible for the contract extention upgrade.

Wow, I never knew that. Guess you don't learn about stuff like that when you pay your bill regularly. Cingular gives me something for paying my bill on time. They don't turn my phone off. Isn't that great of them?🙂

Lol good one David like to see humor from a customer. But to answer the posters question that is the normal price for a razer at 2 year pricing. IT is a high End phone so you are not going to get much better pricing. People that get better pricing is usually new activations from a third party dealer, Here you really really gotta be careful because in these cases you generally have a third party contract with that dealer and if the term with them is not met by just a littl...

Actually, $200 isn't that bad. I think I paid $150 for my V400 when it came out and, after one XBM, I'm very happy with it. Now, me personally, I wouldn't pay $50 for a Razr, just not impressed by them. But for the features and quality, I'd pay $200.

I agree...I have spoken with more customers who have problems with the v3, I have heard less tech issues with the v551. Not to say that there aren't issues with both phones, I am just going by what I have personally seen and heard. I personally haven't used either phone.

The Razor looks like a fantastic phone, the only downside is that when you're outside in bright, sunny weather, the screen glares and it's hard to see your phone book or whatever else is on the screen. The phone has great signal strength though. Look it up on this site for reviews ;)

Comparing side by side in same location and time the Nokia 6200 has much better reception than Mot v3.

The v3 has reception but is garble or static versus the 6200 clean and stable.

If only cingular had that thing verizon does. Where you get 200 dollars towards a new phone at the end of your contract. That would be great!
