I had a customer dispute her sons ETF, turns out the little moron lost his phone. I offered her several options:

1) She can grab another TDMA device for her sons line.

2) We can sell her another TDMA device at FULL retail price = $149.99.

3) We can migrate the service to GSM for $40.00.

4) COFR.

5) Cancel and pay the ETF + Last month of service + taxes on everything = around $300.00.

She chose option 5 after 2 attempts to escalate to a supervisor to have the ETF waived, then discounted then fight the end of bill cycle cancel policy.

37 minutes later she was tired, the battle drawn on long enough, she just wanted service cancelled at end of bill cycle. I was proud that I had a customer screwed over because she would rathe...

I don't think she was changing companies. The line was a Cingular TDMA line (I think). Therefore, there would have been no charge to migrate to GSM.

No it was Blue TDMA to Orange GSM. But common, read my post about angry rant moved, you can then understand that I couldn't believe she would jump at replacing her sons service for $40.00.

I wasn't bashing cingular. I work for verizon, but there are some customers that will cancel no matter what they are offered. They are just fed up with the company. It goes for any carrier.

I was proud that I had a customer screwed over because she would rather end up paying around $300.00 instead of $40.00 for a new phone.

I guess if you do not have much to be proud about in your life - you have to find something to cling to.

Sorry let me rephrase that, I am happy that the customer took the stupid way out of her mess then have it easily fixed. I don't understand why she wouldn't want to migrate to Cingular. The only thing that defines and separates companies is it's rate plans and phones. All reps have different opinions on what to do for customers.

Honestly what? Please elaborate, one word doesn't describe why you feel this way.

Lovely.

Had a nice lady that felt she shouldn't pay her ETF because, 16 months ago, she was told her tri-band GSM phone would work in Japan (true at the time), but, with the 3G upgrades there, it won't work now, and she going over there... 🙄
