ARE YOU CINGULAR OR AT&T

This bugs the hell out of me. I work in a store that used to be at&t, when people come into my store they need help and we ask, are you cingular or at&t. most people have no idea how to answer this. if you never actually got a NEW cingular phone and a new cingular PLAN, you are still AT&T.
but my bill says cingular, and my phone says cingular, is what we hear all day long.

i want to strangle them because NOTHING CHANGED. i HATE when they ASSUME they have rollover mins and are pissed when they go over their mins the next month cust they thought they were cingular cuz the invoice said so, and all cingular custs magically get rollover.

I wish they would just rollover . . . it would be so much better than this mess.

I second that motion.
My most hated of all statements is "I never had this problem with ATT", although I've become a pro at explaining that they are NOT cingular customers.

When I get stock on that question, or when they don't seem to understand the question I just ask them a different one, like: "Are you on the Blue side or the Orange side of the house?" you should see their faces. LOL

that doesn't work either. You ask them which companies logo is on the faceplate and they say "when I turn it on, it says cingular." AAARRRGGGGGG! They never have the box either. I don't get it.

I know what you mean though. At least in telesales if I put a blue number in telepos, it will bring up the migration screen so I dont even have to ask the customer whether they are blue or orange.

As much as I hate to say this, but this is due to no fault at all of the customer. When you take the AT&T name completely from a customer who is still under that system how in the HELL are they supposed to know that nothing changed. This is due to the very poor marketing of Cingular. The cust had no control over this and hell I wish that the name could still be used, but it cant and we are (STORE AND CC REPS) are forced to become a CSI investigator to find their accnt

i see both sides. i wish we could legally still say "att wireless" to cust. because sometimes a blue cust calls in and doesn't know which side their on and i pull up their number and say "you have a former att wireless acct" and they say 'well i didn't cancel!' and then i have to explain that we legally can't use the branding of "att wireless" anymore. but i just don't see why custs automatically think they have rollover and mobile to mobile just because of the merger (although i realize there are many advertisements) it doesn't state all cust's HAVE this though, it states they are all ELLIGIBLE for this. even some cingular custs don't have m2m or rollover if they are on one of the old 29.99 plans. that's what bugs me. it's their responsibil...

I tell our older orange customers who don't have all the free promos that we can't legally change the plan they signed up on without their consent (may or may not be true). Something like that may work with a Blue customer as well.
