could the marketing depatment please please please cut down on the promotion for the go phone and do more with regular rate plans. we have quotas to meet and with this big push on go phones but if you want us to hit 80% of new activations on $59.99 plans and 80% of features then please market all types of phones. you can not get any features on go phones therefore making the sales reps not hit their goal...therefore making your sales reps get hit with sam. yeah its a great idea but when cust come in looking for these go phones and you try to upsell them on a reg plan and they hear thoes 3 little words ' 2 year contract' they say well i dont wants a contracts. So i guess i just have one question to ask....are you trying to make the reps l...

It figures, I'm in the GreatLakes region. GoPhone problems range from waiting days to weeks to get activated, being charged for N&W minutes, no internet, no working phone, etc.

It seems like that is their whole idea. What better way to thin out the workforce and just blame it on "quality improvements"? Either this is all intentional or the marketing team is a bunch of idiots who need to be fired.

Yeah Cingular has horrible marketing, it's obvious they don't really have any strategy outside of getting the Cingular name out there and "raising the bar". They even used that Ramones song for the gophone like AT&T did.

It really bothers me how wireless companies tarket young people for prepaid. I understand it's the big demographic but "straight up prepaid" (t-mobile) is so lame. So is Boost mobile with all those rappers rappin about the joys of being ripped off with a crappy phone at outragous rates. Ok I'll come clean and admit - I really hate marketing period!!

🙄 Prepaid customers are the redheaded stepchildren of wireless companies. I work for CINGULAR but I have yet to see ANY wireless company come out with a fair prepaid plan. I would never get prepaid again. It's a total ripoff. If theres a problem the attitude is we'll get to it when we can on prepaid, but let it be a customer with post paid service and management is e-mailing GOD himself! Yes and our network and tower people are rather pissed off about the "RAISING THE BAR" commercials as we are no where near fully intergrating the AT&T networks with CINGULARS.

I feel yea man, I quit Cingular in June, however, the prepaid was alright for the market, however, it was not as good as AT&T Wireless Go phone(which cingualr destroyed during their buy-out), which was, .10 a min on any plan that was $39.99 or higher with nights and weekend free and unlimited. Cingular's current go phone plan is rediculces. You must have a credit card or checking account. If you arent "postpaid" you just dnt matter. Trying to get help for Go phone customer, well you should just pull your hair out!!!!!! Step children that profit the the wireless carrier quite nicely, yet its not the olive garden cuz when their there they arent family.

also, with the "pick ur plan", the customer has to keep the line for 6 months or we get backed out on our commissions. at least thats how it is in telesales.... 90 percent of go phone/pick ur plan custs either only want the service for short term or have proven that they cant/wont keep up payments (credit challenged), therefore they aren't likely to keep the phone active for a consecutive 6mos... so when they let it go after 3 months... that takes $8 out of my pocket.. 😡

pay as you go for us in my store we get $3 for every one that we sell...pick your plan depends on what price point we sell...$5,$10,$16 or $28 and yeah they have to keep them for 6 months and most of the people that we get are just like your customers...they cant keep money in their account or they only want them for 2 months and then use it to show all thier friends thet they are cool and have a cell phone that doesnt work but they still have that phone.

yeah the way cingular has f***** up the gophone program always make me scratch my head. why make a prepaid service for people with bad credit and require an auto debit on a credit card or checking account. its basic common sense that most people with bad credit arent that bright. when dealing with prepaid customers its best to keep it simple and in this case its cash payments. pay every month or when your minutes run out seems pretty simple. dont say you need a credit card and you can only pay on a set date and make partial payment inbetween. then to confuse the customer more and offer a prepaid credit card that a customer has to pay extra in charges and to refill with money then call in payments. are you freakin kidding me. i see the frust...
