Cingular, Motorola A630

Hi. Wonder how popular this forum is? :-) I want to rant :-( See, I just got the Motorola A630 from Cingular two days ago. I got this in exchange for my old HipTop because Cingular took over SunCom, which supported HipTop, and Cingular would no longer support the HipTop so they were offering me a choice of two free phones - the LG F9100 and the Motorola A630. I chose the Motorola A630 because of its size and its features. The screen on the Moto A630 was bigger than the LG...

However, somehow, applications are very easy to delete. My 7-year-old son accidentally deleted a feature/application on the phone - AOL IM, or some kind of IM application. I think I figured out how he did that.

See, when you get into menu while in the IM & Games se...

No, it's not Cingular's fault, but certainly there should be a way to get the IM application back - yes? I was on phone support with both Motorola and Cingular last night and this morning... They all seemed to say there should be a way to put the IM application back on, but because Cingular does not provide downloads (yet?) for the Moto A630, Cingular cannot fix it - Motorola says that that's Cingular's responsibility - so how can I fix it? You know? So, yes, Cingular should be at fault for not being prepared! Heh. Also, whose idea was it to make it so easy to delete an application on the phone?!? I've been playing around a bit on the phone and it is very easy to delete something by accident.

you fing cry baby you had to have the brand new phone with all the doodads as soon as it came out? and your kid deleted the im option ! so quit complaining and wait for support for that phone or call tech support or a rep that knows anything so that they can give you the web address to download the feature (there is a site for these things) and if your so mad about the options being so easy to delete maybe you should have checked out the phone a little more before you bought it !

just an idea , but your anger is misplaced

Now, now, let's be nice, shall we? No need for name calling - have you ever gone into a Cingular store lately? This phone was NOT on display in the showroom - the phone was in a backroom - plus there were a lot of people waiting - there is NO way to try a phone without it being activated. I didn't "buy" it - see, I'm a former SunCom customer, and this is the phone they offered me in exchange for my old phone... So I got the phone for free. I guess the old adage holds true "you get what you pay for". All I wanted was some compensation for being a SunCom customer being s*rewed over! Big deal. I don't have to get the latest doodads - just what was offered to me... In exchange for my HipTop - the regulations there say that they're supposed to of...
