Can you set it up to play a whole mp3 when it rings?

Technically yes but the amount of rings more than likely wont be as long as a song. But yes you can set an mp3 as a ringtone. I have an s710a and ad 192 kbps mp3s as my ringtones.

192 kbs?! Isnt that a tad bit overkill?

Mine are 48 kbps (mono) and they sound just the same as if they were 192 kbps stereo. Lets me add alot more too.

Haha yeah its an overkill but I havent used it as mp3 player and all the mp3s on my computer are 192 so i just drag them on to the memory stick instead of taking time to convert them. They sound good though 😁

I still like 128kbps. I'll sometimes go as low as 92. The one time I tried 48 I thought it sounded like crap in contrast. Maybe it was just that one song. W/ a 128mb memstick in the thing, I'm not in danger of running out of space any time soon.

I totally agree. On my V220, I only get 1mb of space for pic & tones. I configured my tones to 64kbps. They all last about 20 seconds (which is the length of a full ringing cycle before it goes to VM). The each are about 150kb. If you are looking for an MP3 editor to change the bit rate, crop the song & adjust the file size, I recommend WavePad.

And FYI... Thanks to haptics, my tones sound just as good as the radio... bass and all.
