iphone 4 -v- Samsung Captivate
I currently have a 3gs and am really considering purchasing a Captivate. Love the android OS but I am concerned with how good the Captivate is as a music player. I use my iphone as a music player and to listen to podcast. Does anyone have expierence with the Captivate? Would I still be able to listen to podcast?

Just a real quick answer for you. The captivate is an awesome phone. It has a decent stock media player on it already, and you can download better media players, though the stock one works for me. Unfortunately I don't really listen to podcasts, so I can't answer that for you. The last thing I'll mention is how accurate and sensitive the touchscreen is on the captivate. I still consider the iphone to have the best touchscreen available, but the captivate is very close to matching it. You won't notice much of a difference at all. Battery life is horrible, but you're probably use to that already. There's more I can tell you but I have to get going now. One thing that I almost forgot about.. I currently have a adapter that is hard wired to my headunit in my car that I connect my iphone to. Would I be able to buy something like this for a Captivity? If so can someone point me in the right direction?

Yes and no. I'm sure your headunit has an AUX input so you could get a 3.5 mm plug for your aux input and play music/pandora through your head unit. What you might lose, would being able to change track, artist, album through your head unit. You would also need a car charger to charge your captivate since the aux plus doesn't do that.
Heres an idea... if your headunit/car has bluetooth you can stream music at really good quality. Thats what I do in my 2010 golf.

Google Listen
Stitcter is a good one.
And CNET Audio (Buzz Out Loud is a good daily tech news podcast)
Also, a really good radio streaming app is one called TuneIn Radio, there are literally radio stations from all regions of the worled on TuneIn Radio!!!

Well.... honestly I think it would be best to veer completely away from the Iphones because if you have a device issue it gets really confusing. AT&T has to abide by a contract with Apple and when it comes to the Iphones you have to call Apple... all of the insurance you get is through Apple... you also have to pay Apple just for them to take the call... its really sad. I have always had Samsungs and I love them.

Amen to that. My girlfriend and I discovered these wonderful details when her iphone messed up after a month, and we had to make an 85 mile trip to an Apple store to get it taken care of. I have also had Samsungs previously and would love to go to the Captivate. Just cannot afford it right now. I have also concluded that Apple does not just want your money, they seem to want your soul.

EXACTLY!!! And anytime anybody ever did any playful banter like ellen degeneres against an apple product they get extremely upset about it and make you apologize to the public or else they will sue you. It is ridiculous. I work for AT&T and I think that Apple is pathetic! I have to constantly make sure I am following Apples contract its like a completely different world they have for rules and regulations.....its just dumb
