You tell 'em, Ivan!!

"Why in the world would you think your cell phone would work in your house?" Asks Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg.
Verizon customers, you all better head over to Cingular if you expect to be able to make calls from inside your house. Apparently your current carrier isn't making that luxury a priority at this time.

I'll post it because I know half of us can't read it at work:

"Why in the world would you think your (cell) phone would work in your house?" he asked. "The customer has come to expect so much. They want it to work in the elevator, they want it to work in the basement."
Those are some pretty powerful words. Verizon... tsk tsk tsk
🤭
The fact is that wireless phones are designed to be used outdoors, and you have to remember, they are radio signals, for all purposes, and they have to pass through materials and objects to get to your phone. It's ok if your radio signal is lost when driving through a tunnel, but people scream when it happens to your cell phone? 🙄 🙄 🙄
The fact its right in the terms of service for ALL carriers. We as carriers cannot guarentee 100% service to 100% of thew areas 100% of the time.and we can't service in all locations at all.

I agree, however, I did not particularly like the way Ivan said "Why in the world would you think your (cell) phone would work in your house?" **Last time I checked, my cell works in my house pretty well. I dont have problems that often. I don't have a house phone because I have a cell phone**
Also, Ivan's comment makes me think of one question... Are we really that asinine for thinking it MIGHT work in our houses? 😕

Work sometimes, no. Work as well or better than a landline, possibly... 😁

But you need to take it for what its worth... Ivan said: "Why in the world would you think your (cell) phone would work in your house?"
This leads me to believe that he is saying that our cell phones should NOT work in our home & we are utterly asinine for thinking that they could.
I do think Wi-Fi will become integrated with cellphone service, but in the beginning I expect the customers to provide their own access points. Many homes are already hooked up with their own wireless network, and I wouldn't be surprised to see some adaptation of that used to make up for places in the home where cellular service isn't as good.
"Can you hear me now?" "Yeah, and you're an ignorant, obnoxious cheese sniffer!" 🤣

Am I the only one who wonders why he's so snottily dismissive of WiFi networks? Perhaps a tad nervous about the likely threat voiceover IP constitutes to Verizon's substantial landline investment? All in all, the kind of highhanded, arrogant hot air I'd expect from Verizon...
"Can you hear me now?" "Yeah, and you're an ignorant, obnoxious cheese sniffer!" 🤣
Maybe thats why the dude is always asking the question outside, he never asks indoors just everywhere outdoors.

Oh, and don't forget the "Poser Mobile" posse from the prepaid ad... heck, I personally apologize for the lameness of THAT waste of film... 🙄 I think it's the shiny, laminated dollar bill that pisses me off the most... 😛

🙄 Well my my phone works in my basement (CINGULAR) but drops calls left and right standing outside with full bars 😲 Wazzzup wit dat!? But seriously unless you're just in a completely crap area you should be able to use your cellphone effectively in a house.
If you can in the house use it- cool, if you can't then cool too!, We are just saying that we don't guarentee the 100% service in 100% of the areas 100% of the time, so if you fins some days you can't, don't call and ask if there is an issue is all, we never made a claim to be able to , no carrier claims it, thats the point!
On a side note, my T-Mobile cell works perfectly in my home, while my husband's Blackberry through Cingular (in an area previously cove...

Not that I am defending his comments, because I feel that he is a "doodyhead" for making them, but you have to remember, he is the CEO of Verizon, Inc. Not Verizon Wireless. Therefore he also has a vested interest in Verizon's Land Line services as well.
See thats something that most customers don't realize, i mean think about it, Sprint PCS, VZW, cingular, forerly attws, all these comapnies have differenrt divisions, and they are not gonna slit the throat of one division over another, like Cingular has Bell Bouth, and SBC, Verzion Wireless has verizon landline, Sprint PCS have sprint local and long distance services.
None of the carriers are gonna make the service so great to get rid...

I like Cingular, but we cant take this out of perspective. You all sound like Nextel 18. At the end of the day, this statement meant...well, nothing.
