What does "Unknown" Caller mean?
I just found an unanswered call as "Unknown". My phone was on, but I did not answer, and apparently Voice Mail did not pick it up either.
It will not let me "call" the number back, or even see who it was.
What does this mean?

or it can mean they are calling from an overseas number or some kind of weird number that just doesnt show up right on caller ID's lol

It means that whoever called you, called you from a blocked number, and chose not to leave a message.

I knew a girl that would call me and her number would come up as Unknown. She would call from her cell phone and, as far as I know, wouldn't block the number. When I block the number and call my cell phone, it comes up as Private Call.

It could also be a call from a multi-line phone system that doesn't present a clear caller ID, a friend of mine comes up as "unknown" when he calls from the break room of his call center.
