Three Way Calling

I have seen this feature on my phone bill and just wanted some clarification. I was just curious how much it would cost if I ever used it. I searched cingular.com and found this.

Q:
How much does 3-Way Calling or conference calling cost?

A:
There is no per-use charge associated with 3-Way Calling or conference calling. You will be charged airtime and applicable roaming and toll charges for all simultaneous calls when you use 3-Way Calling or conference calling.

So if I understand that correctly on my GSM Nation plan I would have my airtime deducted at twice the rate? Ie.. 2 minutes for each minute I have the 3 way call going.

Correct. If your on a 3 way call for five minutes 10 will come out of your plan.

just, if you're gonna 3 way call, be absolutely sure you disconnect or the third or second parties disconnect COMPLETELY from the call. I have seen so many items on bills where the customer or their parties have not disconnected and their minutes keep grinding away and they have no idea. And unfortunately, if the customer calls in about that, its on them.

If we're to make sure that we "disconnect COMPLETELY", then I must ask, how would one disconnect 'incompletely' from a call.

I always figured it was cut & dry - just press the button on your phone to hang up. 😕

I don't get it.

What I think he meant and I've noticed this happen to me...

The person on the line hangs up and one would naturally assume that the particular line on my phone would hang up as well but thats not the case. Because if the person on the other end hangs up, the call can keep going on your cell phone, the minute ticker will keep going as if its an active call. It doesnt happen all the time, but it can and has, to me at least.
