Sick of Phonescoop and it's unfairness. GOOD BYE!

I'm done with phonescoop! That's it! No more. I just had my message deleted because I said:

"I'm somewhat shocked that someone who's been registered on phonescoop since 2003 would ask something like this. You must not come here that often, or may had had CDMA for a long time"

This is found offensive, but all the fanboys coming in here talking trash and insulting us is not? I'm not putting up with this anymore. This is my last post. I tried to delete my account, but apparently there's no way to do that.

They delete that but they won't delete the message and the person that said they wished I would get cancer and die when I had cancer and beat it? That's crazy.

This is why I don't post very much on the forums. There a lot of trouble makers on here and many of them get away with murder. I pretty much use phonescoop for news updates and phone...

Very true. This is not a very professional forum in terms of most of the contributions, but there are a few good contributors that almost make up for it. A lot of posters here seem very immature and emotional; lots of irrational anger.

Yeah. You can't even post anything on these forums without someone attacking you. Most of it goes unnoticed by the mods, but if YOU lash back, then they delete your posts and ban you left and right while your antagonist remains free to wreak more havoc.

Do you report these people?
Personally I don't visit the Shop Talk forun much at all cause I don't work in the industry, perhaps you should consider that.

It all depends on how it is worded. There is a lot of crazy stuff that goes on, but if you think someone went too far (or if they are attacking you, not your ideas, directly) report them. The Mod team is VERY quick to clamp down on that sort of thing, but they're not going to go read every post on this site looking to see where people cross the line. Several hundred posts are made here every day. This is why the "report to a moderator" button is so important.

At the end of the day, this is an online forum. One that does not require you to be in the industry to post on. So it's going to be like any other forum out there. Some very decent posts hidden among a ton of terrible/useless ones. high quality (ie everyone is nice and post...

I agree, I do post in the forums, but I read a lot more posts than I post myself.

If I had a real job where I actually do something I'd probably just come on here on here once a day just to check the headlines. But I have a suPer, suPer boring job (security guard), so I browse the web a lot on my phone at night. It's my way of passing the time.

Another thing, there are so, so many fanboys on here, it's like gangs, except they work for cell phone companies. It's just a job people!!!

*Let it be known I'm not referring to anyone specific*

Ok, it took me time but I figured out a way to quasi-delete your account:

When you click on your account, change your email address, and put in a bogus email. The system will deactivate your account until you verify your new email address (which would require you to go to the email account, but in this case, since it is not a real email account, your phonescoop account will remain inactive indefinitely.)

Thus, you will have deleted your account with phonescoop rendering you free of ever being tempted to log back on.

I hope this helps.
