Support available for Premier customers
I am elegible for discounts through my employeer or my military affiliation. However, to use either I have to go through ATT Premier.
I was an ATT customer in the past and my accounts were through Premier back then too. At that time customer service hours were much more limited than "normal" customers, and corperate stores were unable to help me as well. I found the telephone customer service to be really poor compared to that of a "normal" customer.
Have things changed? I am considering a return to ATT and would like to take advantage of the discounts, but don't want to be stuck doing all my buisness on-line or over the phone with snooty reps who don't want to deal with me because I'm not a corperate customer. The hassel and poor...

Any store can service someone who has a FAN discount. Especially since you are signing up for service, you will get the best disounts.

Any COR store can and will service an Individual FAN account. Your service discount can be applied to any service plan above $39.99. The iPhone data plan is exempt from this discount.
The % discount off of handsets varies and different markets have different policies. In Indiana, you can choose either the % discount off of retail plus any MIR, or the standard 2yr promotional price, which ever is cheaper. You'll have to check with the local store to determine the policy there.
I have several friends that work for AT&T in St. Louis, so if you need someone to go to, let me know and I'll get you their contact info!

Are you sure the iPhone dataplan can't be discounted. When I lay out the plan I want on the ATT Premier web site, I pay full price for the handset but get a discount on the voice plan and the data.

Yes, it was the siren song of the iPhone that is luring me in. Several friends have them and I am catching the bug. ATT's coverage being better than my current provider (in all but a few places) helps too.

You'll get the discount on the voice part, but not the $30 iPhone data plan. Part of AT&T's contract with apple states that they get a % of the data plan's monthly cost...hense the reason the company won't let us have iPhones on our company provided lines...

Of all the handsets to choose from, I personally think the iPhone is the top of the list. With the 3.0 software upgrade this summer, it will do anything I would want it to...and be sexier that any other smartphone we have.
