I Hate My iPhone

I Hate My iPhone
The true story of a technological dissenter.
The iPhone was charging. Refined, introverted, mysteriously chilled, my new $200 tile of technology lay supine on a side table, gulping power from the wall.
Actually, the iPhone probably sips, like a lipsticky girl with a vodka drink. It usually does things in a cute way. Whatever. At 4 in the morning, I was in bed, fighting rage. I couldn’t stop thinking about that device’s tarty little face and those yapping “apps†you can download for it. I really liked that story. I wish I had a way to cleverly display my distaste for the iphone like that.

What is sad is that the sales rep should have sold him a different phone to begin with and not an iPhone. "I thought you would be back"? How about, "Maybe an iPhone is not the right choice".
The problem is AT&T reps are not "allowed" to recommend something other than the iPhone if the customer asks.

Not to mention a lot of customers get annoyed if you try telling them another phone would be a better choice.
we have the same issue with verizon with the storm. People buy it because they want a touch screen and waive us off when we try showing them how to use it, or what to do to maintain it (and glare at us when we suggest an "old" phone like the curve) and then come back a week later complaining that we sold them the wrong phone. 🙄

It's that way with every carrier. I get people who come in to Sprint all the time, and get pissed when I try to talk them out of buying a blackberry or a palm for their spoiled 10 yr old, just cuz they can't tell their kid NO. Then it gets better when I tell them about the required data plan, cuz all their kids want to do is text. I wish i could yell "THEN DONT GET YOUR 10 YEAR OLD A FREAKIN BLACKBERRY" and kick them out of the store.

Are we ignoring the fact that so many iPhone sales are due to the extreme media hype and multi-millions of dollars of advertising?
