I greatly appreciate all my customers and respect them for actually paying their bill, however: What on god's green earth would posses someone to drive 10 miles just to hand me a sealed envelope with a completed check inside? The PayStation has dual purposes: It widdles out the payers from the buyers on busy weekends, and allows customers the independance to walk in and interact with their account without a RSC's interference. If I've got a significant line at the machine, I happily take some at my POS.

At&t initiated the billpay charge to recover a portion of the c...

I totally agree, however I still try to make the effort to let customers know that if they have questions about thier bill or account that I can help them after they make the payment at the pay station, because I dont want them to think that I dont want to help them. I too pay all my bills online except for rent and my car so I really couldnt tell you why people continue to waste time and gas by going to a store. In my COR store location I think half the customers I help didnt graduate from from Junior High so they might not be able to figure it out.

I just tell the customers there is a $10 fee. $5 for the store and $5 for my pocket... I tell them its part of the Regulatory Cost Recovery bill that Obama forced through Congress. In reality i keep it as a bonus for working at AT&T!

In my haste I didn't admite that I DO provide the customer with the opp to speak with me regarding any billing issues (save wireline). We're in the business of people, but this situation really gets me sometimes.

if im not busy with anyone else, ill do it for them. if they give me any lip about the $5.00 charge i explain all of the different payment options there are.

if im busy with a customer i explain the options anyways, and if they still want to wait then they wait just like everyone else does.

but yes it does get very annoying taking payments (and I don't have a machine because im an agent) so i feel everyones pain!

I'd have to that my favorite, excuse for not wanting to use the paystation is, " It's to difficult" or "I don't have a credit card and/or checking account". ๐Ÿคจ Come the F on, it's 2009, Darwin says you should already be dead. Man up and get with the times, my 87 year old grandmother has a credit card and can use a computer, you're like 45 you should to. Probably the reason why you don't have a job, errr excuse my venting
