When will att copy verizon's with their new cool My Circle? They copy everything else, and something this big they will be left in the dust if they don't. Any ideas?

Verizon is not carrying over the My circle, after buying out Altell.

Yes, they are. They call it Friends and Family and it's already being offered.

How is this a "new cool" service from Verizon? Just because Alltel was purchased by Verizon doesn't make the feature "new" nor a Verizon original concept. 😁

Every carrier has some sort of "special" plan or feature: Friends and Family, Free Incoming, Rollover Minutes, etc. It's called competition. Each company's sales/marketing force will position their product in the best possible light when presenting it to the customers. That's what sales is. Is one vastly superior to all others? Not really. There's Unlimited Calling plans. As competition opens up (yes, as wi-fi coverage grows, flat rate VoIP usage will take away a lot of cellular voice traffic) these Unlimited calling plans will drop in price and who cares about Circles and...

AT&Ts Unlimited Calling is not so... Unlimited you could say.

There Roaming isnt eather.

Unlimited Voice Services: Unlimited voice services are provided primarily for live dialog between two individuals. If your use of unlimited voice services for conference calling, or call forwarding exceeds 750 minutes per month, AT&T may, at its option, terminate your service or change your plan to one with no unlimited usage components.

ALSO:

Usage: If your minutes of use, data usage or messaging usage (including unlimited services) on other carrier networks (off-net usage) during any two consecutive months exceed your off-net usage allowance, AT&T may, at its option, terminate your service, deny your continued use of other carriers cov...

I dont think at&t will adopt the my circle because you only get 5 on a single line plan and you can only get 10 total on a 5 line plan, thats only 2 per line, however you can change the people in your my cirlce anytime you want but because its now on a CDMA carrier and not GSM anymore you can only make the changes on verizon's website and not on the phone, thats what I was told my a alltel customer anyway. If at&t apots the my circle I think at&t will make it better becuase you can probibly make the change from the phone, instead of our website.

Similar to TMO's MYFAVs. They can be changed on the handset t-mobile.com or through the "web2go" interface. You can change it on the phone because the PHONE has the software. Once VZW gets everything panned out i'm sure they will (if they are smart) start adding it to the phone's software. Thus making it changeable on the handset. If you have a non-myfav handset like a Unlocked GSM phone you can get myfavs but you can't change the contacts from the phone (unless through web2go). Make sense? i'm sure VZW is just trying to push this out. It's good for business. Myfavs is a HUGE seller for TMO and it was huge on Alltel too.

thanks for explaining that to me. I am sure at&t will take it in if it becomes a big hit with Verizon. No offense to the TMO, or Sprint users out thier but at&t considers Verizon as thier only competition so if its huge with Verizon consider at&t on board

Not even true. Yes Verizon might be at&t only real competition, they still won't take over the my circle concept. Just like no one will touch rollover. Like the other guy put on here every carrier has their own different feature they offer to cust they don't steal stuff like that. So don't hold your breath on this one...

I agree with you in regards to every carrier having having something special, but look what happened when Sprint started to offer Unlimited talking for $99.99, Verizon Jumped on board followed by at&t. Based on that fact alone makes me think at&t will offer it sometime down the road.

Those are rate plans though. Those are not really features. If you want to go there every one went from a limited amount of text messaging to unlimited and now unlimited family text. You have to look at is as a special unique feature. No one will ever touch rollover. So the same goes for my circle. Its not gonna happen.

Some people don't know this, but Verizon has something like Rollover.

If you add more mins to your account, $15.00 adds 100 mins if your low, and you only use 50 of those 100 mins, the other 50 will be added on too your next months mins.

So if you had 1400 mins, you would have 1450 mins.

But this only works if you add mins yourself.

Why would AT&T want "My Circle"? They already have Rollover. What good is "unlimited calling" to other numbers if they don't have the same? You are still forced to keep your conversations short, thus defeating the purpose of having it in the first place.

Some people have unlimited plans or AT home services that they don't have mins. Like for example my grandmother. She refuses to get a cell phone. So when i call her i get to talk to her till i'm blue in the face. Shes in my "myfavs". I normally don't run into the "i got to go because my mins are low." Infact i don't think i've heard that since like the 90's anyways.
