Lady calls in, she has activated a new account with VZW and chose not to Port Out. She said that the VZW rep told her that they would contact us to cancel her Cingular account on her behalf, Nobody ever did. So we billed her.

She calls in, escalates, and wants me to credit her charges out of 'consideration' because VZW did not cancel her account on her behalf. I advised the customer that we never recieved notification of cancellation so the charges are valid.

The kicker? It's Cingular's fault as far as she's concerned and she'll make sure never to use Cingular again.

She get's the award this year... And the year's not even over with.

There's a new fix in place for this as of a few hours ago.

If you've been logged in for a while, log out, make sure the address is www.phonescoop.com (and not www1.phonescoop.com or www2.phonescoop.com,) and then log in again.

If this fix indeed works, everything should be fine after that. 🙂

If you still have problems ☚ī¸, let me know...

i dunno i think i have a challenger for the title. lady called in, said she didnt make the calls she was being charged for. i asked her why she thought that...she said its because she was in mexico with her phone when the calls were made, and since she was not at home the calls could not have come from her phone. i told her the charges are intl roaming calls, and not extra minutes and they are coming from mexico. she then proceded to tell me thats impossible since she was using mexican towers, and they arent compatible with cingulars bill computers. i told her they were and charges are valid. she got mad, tried to hang up on me....(she didnt) and proceeded to start yelling in spanish to some guy in the background...(sounded like yelling abou...

Had a lady disputing her Direct Bill charges. She states that she 'quit downloading' after getting her first bill with an extra $60 on it for DB charges. Next bill has $40 worth. I tell her that the downloads were done before she recieved her first bill and quit using it. had the Data details there on the bill. She starts cussing and stating she won't pay the bill. Then she entered the Lincoln Tunnel and lost the signal... 😎

heh. Cute.

I've had two people call in the least coupld days wish like $80.00 direct bill charges. Turns out, it was this stupid jamster.com thing that charges 1.99 for wallpapers, 1.99 for screen savers, and 1.99 for ringtones, per WEEK. Yeah, luckily I had this happen to me personally, and I told them how to stop it quick.

Least they didn't get mad, but that's probably because I knew so much about it.

If that wins i may have second place. This lady calls in wants us to review her bill.customer has overage charges.in the neighborhood of about $150.00 extra.Reviewed her plan and her minutes, then she tells its wrong as she never used her rollover.Look at her service.

Explained she did pull her rollover minutes off the service and still went over by these amount of minutes to get her overage to where it is.showed her, then she tells me that she was told that with rollover that she'd never pay airtime charges.

Explain to her rollover works.she then tells me whay am I paying $5.00 a month for rollover, that means "i don't overage" look and say mam, thats insurance for $4.99, proceeds to stammer and tell after a few seconds "thats right, ...

lol thats good

I had a lady today, and I don't know if I'm just numb to them now or what but you just have to sit back and laugh.

I had a lady with a cancelled account disputing her final bill, and everything about it.

First, we charged her a late fee...she wasn't having that. Because we don't charge late fees for 10-15 days (depending on state) it won't be billed on the next bill following the late payment, but the one after, because of the next billing cycle closing before the grace period being up. So, this late fee was for her december bill. Our late fee's are 1.5% of a bill up to $5 maximum, which is what she was charged. For a bill due 12/21/04, she made her payment 2/2/05. So, after she demands that it be credited I advised...

Had a call yesterday:
Keep in mind she's around 40 yrs old 😁
The customer (blue) asked why she was getting data charges on her acct...
I explained that they were from using mMode for various purposes such as email, ringtones and the like. She states that she does not know what that is (the data use is 2943 kbs or so). She then askes what e-wallet charges are. I tell her its for games or ringtones, etc. (The bill shows 6 ringtones were downloaded and their names). So, of course she says she does not know how to do that.
In the back of my mind, I give her the benefit of the doubt...
That is until she receives a call and the ringer is Smooth Criminal by MJ (one of the billed ringtones)...
I inform her that the charges are valid and she...

The sad thing is, you're pretty much right lol I can think of maybe one of two instances that stick out where it was a guy. Generally, in my experience if a guy is pissed about something he'll say he's pissed and this is why-point blank. After that, it's usually "so what are you going to do about it". you don't typically get the "games".

One example where one got out of hand was when a guy called in and was disputing to early termination fee's, and had a $500 phone bill. Well, he chose to port out his numbers a month and a half before his contract was up, and absolutely refused to pay the fee's. We gave him every chance in the book. Even said look, if you re-activate your account here, we won't charge you activation fees, (anyone that re...

It censors the letters that are in succession and on teh same line...you can have a space between it, but it'll still block.

I have no problem giving credit when it's due. There are definately circumstances and situations that can and will warrant it. I will not however even amuse the thought of it when it's not called for and the person is being a total butt about it. You're better off talking to a brick wall. I'll be as polite and nice as possible, but the answer will still be "no" I must say I agree in that all you can do sometimes is just sit back and smile when someone is making an utter butt of themselves. You wonder if the call was recorded if you could ever get a copy of it and play it back to them so they could hear what the sound like lol. If the customer is real and sincere I'll pretty much bend over backwards to help them, if they're trying to pull one...
