Hi, I just upgraded to the Treo 650. A cingular rep told me to use my old 32k sim card. The Treo came with a 64k sim card. I am having trouble connecting to voice mail (number can not be completed as dialed)I can not change the number. Could the sim card be the problem?

Thanks

It is possible i would suggest calling the cingular customer service center and having them take a look at your vcml in the system

no something must have gotten butched with the switch, if you call customer service they can give you the proper number and you can reprogram it. 😁

An advisory was just posted on the Treo650 yesterday. The phone has problems with a "Gemplus" 64K SIM. Either use your 32K SIM or ask the store if they have a 64K SIM by Axalto...

Thanks for the info. I have a Gemplus 64k card. The problem that I was having was with the 32k card, but after they re-set something on their end the voicemail worked fine.

What is the difference between a 32k sim and a 64k, other then the ability to store more phone numbers?

The 64Ks grab towers based on signal strength alone. The 32Ks grab based on 'our's first, their's second' no matter the relative signal strength of the towers...

Thanks for your help. They had to reactivate it. It works fine now.
