The phone has something to do with it. I get people all the time who used blackberries on at&t and went to the iphone and complain of how many more dropped calls and poor call clarity they experience in comparison to the BB's.

Well I can disupte that by listing the phones with good and poor signal strength that I have owned with the same SIM card and not in order:

Good:
Cingular 8525 (horrid BT though)
MOTO RAZR V3xx
SE K850i

Middle of Road:
Blackberry Curve

Horrid:
Samsung SYNC
Samsung SLM
LG SHINE - DEAR GOD ON EARTH THIS IS THE WORSE SIGNAL BEARING PHONE THAT I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO MEET. SINGAL STRENGTH SHOULD BE PRIORITY ONE, NOT LAST.

But all these phones are on the same network, yet different results, so it doesn't have to be the network, all of which you will notice that only one wasn't 3G, and yes I have a 3G SIM card as well.
