not to be a jerk, but even if you have trouble with grammer at least use the spell checker. and people wonder why our country is in such bad shape. even with a few beers in me i still can type and spell well.

Most of the time that is the outsourced reps. Believe me it is frustrating to call warranty and be asked how to spell my name 6 times.

"Thank you for calling ATT, my name is (always some I can't spell). May I get you name please?"
....
"Can you spell it please?"

B-O-B W-H-I-T-E

"Did you say Bohn Hwitchiertelson?"

What? No I didn't... I said BOB WHITE!

btw, my name isn't Bob white... My last name is kinda hard to spell just by hearing it, BUT I always spell it right after I say my name. And they STILL never get it.

Most customer service is within the US. Only overflow goes to outsourced foreign locations (thank god!). Being in sales, I find it best to hang up and try my luck getting a different rep when I get someone like this.

I wish i could but we are monitored on outbound stats and repeat calls. lol Most of the time they state my name is Bob Doe. When you ask which call center they are at they say 'I am in Arizona...and i feel like saying Arizona, India?' LOL. If I cant even understand them I ask them sometimes to transfer me to an english accented representative. If I cant understand them I know as sure as hell the customer wont be able to either.

AMEN! I use a pseudonym when I call warranty because my normal name is very hard to spell. So I tell them my name is DAvid Jones and they ask me how to spell it atleast 3 times. And then the customers go Irate because they can't understand the terms and conditions that they are agreeing to.
