dropped same call 9 times between Charleston and Myrtle Beach.....
Have never had a GSM phone that could make that trip without dropping a ton of times....One ot two i can accept but 9 times is ridiculous when redial immediately connects te call again/
Thoose of you on the fence and really NEED a PHONE first a gdget second should rethink ATT. forget the 30 day trial and use a pre paid for a couple months,
IF phonce calls are secondary and ou have a 550 plan and always have 2000 in the bank on a shared plan and are more into the gadgets.....try another Carrier until ATT fixes the reliability issues where you live work and play..

No I am not in my 20's any more. I don't have to care how I am perceived by strangers.

Sorry about your family issues, but we really don't need to read about them here.

Any phone or network will drop calls while traveling through certain areas. It's called hitting a dead zone- and every single carrier has them.
I know that Sparky i LIVE in one of those dead areas.......I don't have to like it.
That's the reason I won't sign a contract and have not in years, I want the option of a clean get away if another carrier has better reliability and the same feature set.
GSM handoffs blow. Period. Thats no secret.

Then what, may I ask, was the purpose and point of your post? 😕

Well no carrier is going to get perfect service in every part of the nation. I currently have AT&T and am very happy with it. Went to Florida and didn't lose service at all(except a few areas in Alabama, but that can be expected).
OH Im happy with ATT. Iam happy with being able to use the N95 on the netwrok and the Roll Over lan and everything EXCEPT their phone service. ( drops in an hour on the same call is abit over the line. Especiall when they were just apparently handoffs..because redials worked fine until the next tower handoff...
But Thats always been my ATT experience wherever I lived and used it. Its a good thing they offer the freedom and flexibility of the GSM techno...

T-Mobile just bought Suncom here. I would try them if they had 3G my Nokia could use. I don;t think they even have High speed data......

they are launching 3G in all major cities here in october. right now its only in new york, and my friend from new york says its pretty faster than AT&T's im patient so i can wait on 3G.
I don't think the N95 will be able to receive that brand of 3G though. I could be wrong as since T Mobile is not here yet I have not researched it.
I am not sure losing the 850 band would be a good thing either. I already drop a lot of calls.
