My parents have 2 lines (Family) with ATT and I want to be able to get the iPhone 3G on Friday. If I am added as an authrotized user to the account and even thought I'm 17 will I still be able to get it by myself on Friday?

No, because the account holder is the only one that can extend the contract. You only have access to certain information and that is not one you can do.

Also, you can't upgrade even if you are an authorized user unless you are 18+. You have to be 18 or older to enter into a contract. At least that is how it is in Mkt.35.

The federal regulations say that authorized users can do upgrades with photo ID, but only account holders can do activations. So if you are trying to get a new line, you would be out of luck (unless you find a rep willing to violate regs for the commission--not an unheard of event). If you are trying to upgrade an existing line and you are an authorized user, you might have trouble with your age, but I think most reps would just check your ID to verify you are who you say you are, and not even notice the age issue. The whole concept of an authorized user is that the account holder has given the authorized user the ability to do most things an account holder can do.
