If I buy the iphone 3G, I understand that I am committing to 2 years of service. Can I drop my data plan before the end of the two years and keep the AT&T voice service? Would that consider early termination?

As long as you have the iPhone 3G, you must have the $30 unlimited data plan. You cannot change this.
