Anyone using this? Your thoughts on ease of use, details, what it shows/tells you compared to what is reality.

I've used the internal GPS in my Tilt with MS Streets & Trips-worked okay.

TRIED to use it with Delorme Pocket Streets-to slow, locked up.

I'm still on the older PDA Connect Unlimited (no tethering) so any data usage wouldn't be an issue. Unit would be plugged into 12V outlet in the car so power drain wouldn't be an issue. I've got a 2GB (may go to bigger card if I can find one cheap) microSD card so if it has to store stuff, space wouldn't be an issue. I'm using the latest AT&T/HTC ROM and did a soft reset during initial boot up so I don't have all the bloatware, so I don't think I have the actual installer for Navi...

I dont use it pesonally, but I know people who do. My boss used it on his BB Curve, and it sucked because the EDGE data network got behind his travels in town. In other words, the Navigator was about 2 blocks behind where he actually was located. Others who use it on 3G networks have no problem, the speed of the internet connection allows the feature to keep up with the moving vehicle.

The points of interest capability is great for travellers because it allows you to find the nearest restaraunt, hotel, whatever you are trying to find that is near your location. I used it before they re-branded it to ATTNav, it was okay but why pay for something that you can have for free. Check out this site...

This is nice and it is pretty fast. It is based on the same concept as ATTNav. You are pulling the data as you need it. The big difference is that you don't have to pay for it.

Also check out tigerdirect.com or newegg.com to get your microSD. They have an 8GB for real cheap. I would just stay away from Kingston and all the other off brands and get the SanDisk as you get the warranty and a good product. IMHO.

I currently use the AT&T Navigator to plan my routes for trips. I use a Blackberry Curve.

For the most part, the turn by turn directions are dead on (although I did have problems locating the DMV in Hendersonville, NC, but there are some screwy turns in that area, it had me driving around in a circle for a bit, telling me I kept missing my turn, lol).

The fuel finder by price is nice but not 100% accurate all the time, but with prices fluctuating sometimes on a daily basis I can see that being an issue with any service. However it's only been a few cents off when it is wrong.

The traffic update is not useful everywhere, but if you live in the most heavily populated areas of the country it could save you a lot of time and $$ avoi...
