I agree, i was not a fan of the old one. The service strength was not good at all. That is the number one complaint to at&t right now about the phone. I hope the 3G phone does get better service. I just got one of the LG 915's and it gets way better service than the iphone. Maybe I will have to get a 3G iphone and check it out. Think it will have the same hype as the first one? Crazy lines and people all over the place?

Probably Steve knows how to work up a crowd that is for sure..and it's not like this one is marginally better, it's ALOT better.
I will be very curious about this phone, esp the call clarity. Should be fun to watch unfold. And at 199 price point, whoa look out...cuz these bad boys will sell like mad!

no mms. no stereo bluetooth. as of now, NO no-commitment price and the 199.99 and 299.99 prices require a contract. the iphone will be activated at POS. 30.00 per month for data. no revenu sharing. not all customers will be eligible to get an iphone. return policy will be 30 days if purchased from at&t. iru discounts will apply for service.

Awesome. I had expected as much with the reduced price. I wonder if that means it will be sold out of indirect channels as well now. I'm kind of shocked they didn't step it up to stereo bluetooth at least.

So the $199 and $299 applicable no matter where you are in your contract or is it new/upgrade only? I'm guessing agents don't get this as we have been told nothing of it for launching in two days. I doubt they'll be overnighting them to us.

Just read that if your not eligible to upgrade they charge you an additional $175, sounds like the ETF without saying ETF. No verification on that but it sounds like something AT&T would do. I wonder if that fee leaves the agent channel out for good.

Less and less reasons to not let us carry the handset.
1) Have to be an Apple Authorized Reseller (Spring is an AAR and cannot carry the iPhone)
2) Due to iTunes activations too hard to track for agents comp (no longer an issue)
3) Agents not properly trained - Wireless U Course - DONE

I'll agree that some agents are not trained but how different can it be than anything else? Type in IMEI: Done. Pick data plan: Done, two hardest parts. If the box says Blackberry, sell blackberry plan. If it says iPhone, pick iPhone plan. I wish we would, but you never know. I had misread the which 11th it launched, at first I thought it was Wednesday.
