Is AT&T worth switching to?
Thanks in advance for your honest opinion.

I never understood why employees of a carrier didn't have the carrier they work for as a service. I think I'm going to take the plunge, and try it for 30 days. More than anything I'm tired of waiting for my current carrier to get new phones. With me living where I live, all the carriers have about the same level of service.
One of the really great things about ATT is you NEVER have to go into a store or speak to a rep. I have not been in an ATT store in years nor have I had to call customer service. My last contract was for a pair of Sony T637s. Since then we have been buying our phones unlocked and unbranded new and used from HoFo members and recommended retailers.
B) My carrier has not been very troublesome for me.
And as for other people they feel they get better deals or might have something "grandfathered" on their account that works best for them, or just simply love the service at the other carrier and see no reason to switch.
Not sure why it would matter or why people look at it as something bad. Just because I work for the carrier does not mean I need to have their service.
I have another question: What is the big difference between att and tmobile?
welcome

I have hear that T-Mobile doesn't use towers any more. They are using Sattelite's to send their signals with. I tend to believe it's true as T-Mobile was "suppose" to put a tower nearby about 4 months ago and now they are not going to.
😳
Please tell me that was sarcasm

I worked for Tmobile for awhile, and even tho they offered a line of service for almost nothing, I kept my old carrier because their coverage is AWFUL. 😕

Check their detailed map for coverage at the street level where you live, work, and play. If you like what you see and are a phone power user. ATT is worth it. If you want service where the buffalo Roam and never experience a dropped call. ATT is not a good choice.
IF you are coming from a CDMA carrier you will be very surprised at the freedom and flexibility a GSM carrier offers on every level. In particular phone choices. You are not tied into the carrier's phone choices...

Sprint and T-Mobile add customers because they have cheaper plans and services. Verizon adds customers because their network is more dependable. AT&T adds customers by lieing and cheating customers into contracts. AT&T doesn't offer anything at all that makes then stand out. Unless you count a high price tag as a standout feature.
If you have money to waste, then by all means go with AT&T.
You made me laugh though. I needed that, had a very busy day.
Charge a lot more for service? Our price plans are the same thing as Verizon's.
If we lie and cheat then I would hope a customer would realize that we did such a thing within thirty days of their contract and cancel it with no penalty.

No, it is not at all worth the switch. AT&T has lots of dead spots, even when their web sites claims coverage is great in those areas. AT&T charges a lot more for service. They cancel customer accounts if they use too much data or roam too much.

Ash,
of COURSE Sprint adds customers...they add them to T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, etc. 😉

AT&T, let's see, overall I give them a 3.5 out of 5. They are not bad. They did overcharge me when I signed up. My first billing cycle was only 3 days, and they charged me for a full month and I never got that back.
Signal wise, it is ok. Sometimes I have great coverage, other times my phone breaks out so bad, I'd like to set my hair on fire.
Another thing, I am on their smallest plan, I have over 2,000 rollover minutes and I can't convince them to put me on an...

Only customer care, COR, and the retention department have access to it.
250 daytime with no rollover and 1000 nights and weekends. Still a nationwide plan.
So no need to switch when we can make it happen.

there is no age restriction in the billing system. it is a save tool to be used whenever deemed necessary.

On this specific point, it's important to note that AT&T bills monthly service charges IN ADVANCE. Your first bill will typically have a pro-rated monthly charge for the first partial cycle AND a full month's monthly recurring charges for the next bill cycle.
By the same tune, if you cancel in mid cycle, you are entitled to a credit for the pro-rated portion of the MRC for the remaining months.
It does tend to make the first bill look rather daunting, though, p...

ATT is not great in my area. Their customer service is below average as well.
Yeah if the coverage is bad....I understand
But CUSTOMER SERVICE...I guess you Verizon fan-boys speak with CS a lot. Anyone on ATT will tell you they rarely have to speak to CS. They can buy their phones offline and really have no need to deal with CS unless they can't read a book or live from upgrade to upgrade.....
One of the reasons I chose ATT even though I live in a marginal calling area is becasue I don't NEED them to do anything. Hav not upgraded sine the T637 and have not even talked with anyone from ATT maybe 3 times since then.....
You guy have to call Verizon everytime you take a crap. They ha...
