Is there a reason blackberry doesn't let the camera record? Does anyone know if they are going to add this any time soon?

There is supposed to be update in the works that is supposed to allow it to record video, but no one knows when it will be released, other than RIM. At the rate its going the 9000 series phones will probably be out by the time the update is released.

From the RIM rumor mill, I've heard that the new Pearl and the touch screen Curve (yes it is a Curve not a new model) will have it. Keep checking the ATT website for new software updates.

Correct. The 4.3 software will have it. i was told it will be available for the Curve2 as well as newer model BB's that come out. tentative time frame is BY june.

4.2.2.312 is out. not sure what this update includes, but i am downloading it now. 😎

oops, my bad..the DESKTOP software version is updated, but the core application is still 4.2.2.170 ☹️ ☹️
just looked in my saved emails - the 8110 has the new 4.3 software. 4.3 for older devices is slated for June.
