I don't see what's so bad about it. Don't they mail you a bill early enough for you to mail them a check every month? If it pisses you off that much, then mail them your bills. You're lucky they even offer free automated bill payments via credit or debit cards. Those transactions cost money and they're just absorbing it instead of passing it on to you.

hahahhahaha....they don't "absorb" it, are you kidding? They tack it onto they're regular pricing. That stuff is taken into account early on. You're already paying for it whether or not you use a card.

It costs the company a ton of money to pay their Retail Sales Consultants. The operative word here is SALES. That's what they are paid for. When we take say 80 payments a day at oh say 3 minutes apiece, that works out to 4 hours a day. that's over a third of the total time you are open in a day. Let's say you have 4 RSC's X $10/hr X 4 hours, it costs the company $160 to pay people to take payments when they could be spending that time to generate revenue for the company. Then extrapolate that $160 over 2000 stores, that's $320,000 each and every day to pay sales people to process your payments! That's $116.8 MILLION dollars a year!!!
So if they can encourage people to use automated means to post payments, that maximizes their investment in ...

i think we should charge.. the reps in the store are not bill takers.. They are there to sell. We have so many options to pay the bill that they should do something to keep the same people from coming into the store week after week wasting time. My store has 2 paystations, plus the *services and online. I dont understand customers sometimes. I am sales support in the store"(used to be a rep) and we will gladly show people how to use the paystation. ITS NOT THAT HARD..

cor and customer care charge $5.00 to take a payment. when a customer calls customer care for any reason, on average, it cost the company $4.00-$8.00 so the fee is to off set that cost. it's free to pay online or through the ivr. in retail it's $5.00 to pay with a sales rep and that's because they have pay stations in the stores and while every store may not have a wait, those that are busy and average a long wait, it's to help wi...

At least for the last two years, there is no charge to pay a bill at a sprint store with a rep, at least when sprint customers PAY their bills. Indirect locations do vcharge for it I believe..... Lol, Sprint has bigger problems than that...

I work at an indirect and we don't charge the customer to pay with a credit or debit card in the store, but we do charge $2 to pay with cash since TioExpress charges that not us. Customers are always like "You mean you CHARGE me to pay in Cash?!!" To which I reply "yep, they're pushing people to use debit cards."

To avoid the fee all they have to do is use the payment station or one of the many other automated systems to pay the bill.

If the store doesn't have a pay station, they can pay at the register for free...

Here are my takes as a rep:
1. I would think reps should be more pissed at this as it adds an extra step to ask the customer to review their bill...

2. It frees us up to make sales as we were hired to do.
