New Rate Plans?

I missed out on the 1000 anytime minutes for $39.99. Does anyone know when Cingular might have some new rate plans coming out?

Thanks!

While that plan sounds good for 1000 mins, it really is no where near as good as a regular plan with say 600 mins for 39.99, with unlim n/w an dunlim m2m. The 1000 min plan did not come with any m2m or n/w. Take a look at your invoice next month and addd up your n/w mins and m2m mins, bet you used more than 1000.

I disagree. You see for me, I have no friends, no social life... but I do have a business... so 90% of my calls are peak.

I'm currently on TMobile and when Cingular 1000 came out I thought about switching but felt "better the devil you know"... but now the reception is getting even worse where I live (Milpitas), and I'm itching to switch.. but alas.. the plan is gone ☚ī¸

Not to insult anyone on the Cingular forum (Cingular's a fine choice), but I believe Verizon still offers the 1000 Anytime w/Free Long Distance for $39.99. Its on their site.

Only reason I mention it is because you say you live in Milpitas, and as a fellow Bay Area resident I can attest that Verizon is very good indeed here....

Umm I don't see the plan you are talking about anywhere.. the only one I see is 1000 "digital" +N/W (local) for $59.99.

The Cingular plan I was referring to was 1000 (no N/W) nationwide for $39.99. If there was a comparable plan on Verizon (nationwide) for the same price.. heck, I'd consider it.. even though I have a preference for GSM 🙂

If you're not seeing it, then it simply may not be available in your area.

Actually, the $39.99 plans have only 5000 N&W, and the nation plan only has 450R. The region plan has 600 minutes @ $39.99, but no rollover and no M2M.

On a side note, we still offer the NTN1000R in retention... 😎

Cingular's response is out.

T-mobile offers their 39.99 promo with 1000 anytime and unlimited weeked minutes (weekend only, no night) with unlimited mobile for $6.99 as an add on. The 45.99 adds night minutes into the bundled 1000.

Cingular offers 450 anytime minutes with Rollover, unlimited mobile, and 5000 night and weekend minutes for 39.99 or 600 anytime minutes with Rollover, unlimited mobile, and unlimited night and weekend minutes for 49.99.

The price comparison is really:

T-mobile $52.98 1000 anytime
Cingular $49.99 600 anytime w/ rollover

OK I won't go into comparison with plans with additional lines OR mobile-to-mobile because I don't need them.. so I'll give you that Cingular wins there... but for the individual user.. the comparison is still boils down to:

T-mobile $45.99 1000 anytime
Cingular $49.99 600 anytime w/rollover

I understand the ORIGINAL 1000 minutes plan (no N/W) may have not sold well because it took away N/W... but hey I think if Cingular should at the minimum offer at least:

$39.99 600 anytime w/rollover
$49.99 800 anytime w/rollover

Thats just my opinion 🙂

I agree that it's a better plan with T-mobile for individual users. Even at 52.98, with the 1000 anytime, unlimited mobile and unlimited N/W, ...

You get the value with cingular in the mobile to mobile, and Rollover so in the end you can end up with a ton more minutes. Also, you get the biggest coverage area in the US. Tmobile doesnt even have half the coverage. They get you in there with the rate plan offers. Be careful to read the fine print. I've seen a few offers that looked really good but the price jumped up to over 70 dollars after the first few months. Be careful.

Of course, if you're having overage at 600 minutes, the rollover is pretty much a moot point...

I really hate the fair and flexible plan. Most people talk the same amount on their phone each month. It may be true that during holiday seasons usage goes up, but that's one of the times rollover would've bailed you out. The nice thing about fair and flexible is if your usage really does vary that much over time, your bills wont become astronomical. Kudos for that. The plan, however, costs more at every level than any other plan by any carrier. I got bored one day when the plan came out and made line graphs of every plan by every carrier, and the F&F plan stayed on the bottom and further right than anything else. So, if your usage varies that much, then it's the right plan for you. If not, you're paying out your butt in the long run...

It frustrates me as a csr rep in retentions for CINGULAR to see customers leave because we aren't competitive with the other companies rateplans. Even I like the T-Mobile plan and can see why someone would snatch it up. If we want to keep our customers we had better come up with something competitive. In the end rollover means nothing when you can keep an extra $40.00 or $45.00 in your pocket! ☚ī¸
