TERMINATION PRO-RATE IS BULLS@#T
Just called att today, there termination fee(pro-rated) hasn't been instated yet. But they've been advertising it since OCTOBER! Does anybody have any idea when and if this will actually be an option? P.S. I have 6mths left, I would cost me only like $50 to terminate if pro-rated.

if its anything like VZWs, you have to be under a new agreement. The old agreements kept their original ETFs.

Thanx, I appreciate the info. I still think I'll pay the termination fee, just wish is wasn't so much.
...
No we haven't. It hasn't been 'advertised' at all. It may have been announced in October. But that doesn't mean anything.
...
So basically both of you are saying that this will only apply to new customers? Or do either of you think this will be an option for existing customers?
...
More than likely, it's gonna be exactly the same as when Verizon did it. You would have to sign a new contract after the date it goes into effect for the ETF to be prorated

An announcement is a form of advertisement if it makes the company look better....for future or new customers anyway
...
Is it a form of advertisement? Yes. Is it advertised as having the produce available immediately for past and future customers? No.
...
AT&T (at that time it was Cingular), used to have prorated fees, but they followed the trend of flat rate fees about a year and a half ago. Now, the trend is back to prorated fees.
If it works out the same way, the prorated ETF is only on new contracts. Basically, the contract you signed stated that a flat rate ETF of $175 would be charged. They cannot change that without voiding the contract.
