SE S710a and Lock/Line Insurance

FoneLink

Dec 10, 2004, 1:54 PM
Already posted on S710a Forum, but didn't get the response I was looking for...

I'm sure no one has any concrete answers, but is it safe to assume that insurance from Lockline (Cingular) will not be available for this phone. I'm only making this assumption because this is an expensive phone like the Moto RAZR V3, and correct me if I'm wrong, but Lockline will not insure the RAZR. If anyone has any info on this matter, I'd like to hear your thoughts. There is no way I'll allow myself to purchase this phone if it will cost me full price to replace. I'm too irresponsible when it comes to mobile phones.

Any answer and this point is just speculation and guess work. Best wait until it's released and then contact Lockline to find out.

Your assumption about High-End replacements is sadly true. I own a RAZR and was somewhat aggravated when I learned I cannot protect my phone under Lock/Line. If there are more angry clients of Cingular, they should all issue compliants to help resolve this matter. 😈

Rumors say insurance should be available 2Q on high price phones and PDAs... probably higher cost per month and higher deductible...

I really hope they do, as more and more expensive phones keep rolling out. The Nokia 7610 is another one to add to this list. Expect it to cost $399.99 with a two year when it's released, since it will cost us more than that to purchase it in January.

Another option is to purchase with an Amex card. I think all Amex cards have purchase protection against theft or damage and I know my Plat card also has automatic insurance against loss as well.

I've had to use the service once and it was nearly effortless - just called them, told them what i lost and got the credit issued to my acct.
