Cingular's family plans

Im wondering why Cingular's family plans initially come with only one line? Yes, I understand that you can (and most likely will) purchase a second or third line for $20 or $10 (depending on the plan). But why cant they be a little more open (like T-mobile) and tell the price for 2 phones. It's not a big deal, just wondering.

i dont get what you are saying...

cingular doesnt hide anything... all of the brouchures for family talk (and on the internet) cleary state that each additional line is 19.99 (for plans up to 49.99) and 9.99 (for plans 59.99 and higher)

i mean its really the same thing... except cingular doesnt advsertise it as includeing the first two lines of service... not really hard to understand.

Can you not add? first phone 59.99 second line 9.99 = 69.98.... WOW! that was hard... or first phone 39.99 + second line 19.99 = 59.98. I guess T-Mobile adds both lines for you because they know their customers can not add.

A. It wouldnt be a Family Plan if it was only 1 line.

B. T.Mobile is too afraid to lose new customers by telling them that something costs extra!

C. T.Mobile is stupid for doing it that way by bundling it as 2 right off the bat.
